ABC Housing - Cardiff

This development in Elm Street Lane, Cardiff is scheduled to start on site in late 2004. It aims to address issues of housing affordability and resource efficiency, especially material resources, energy and water. The development is being designed to be as affordable as possible by reducing building and running costs through the use of easily buildable technology, and providing a highly-insulated zero heating building. The design of the two 1-bedroom flats also aims to reduce the need for building resources, and reduce the production of waste during the building process and at the end of the building’s life. All materials will be natural, recycled or reclaimed and qualify as closed loop materials i.e. recyclable or naturally biodegradable, see intended specification outline (right).
